Ennis Special Olympics Golf Club was formed in 2005 following on from the success of the World Games which were held in Dublin in 2003. Jackie Morris, Kathleen Kearse and Vincent Gardner partnered 3 Special athletes from the Brothers of Charity and played each Monday at Ennis Golf Club and competed in Munster and Ireland games that year.
Over the following years the numbers of athletes grew and also the volunteers from our club, today we have 22 athletes and an equal number of volunteers.
Posted on Rebekah HVerified Wonderful experience! My husband and his friends went the morning of our wedding for a round of golf. We’re from the US and Ennis Golf Club allowed them to rent all the gear needed and the group had a wonderful time having the chance to golf in Ireland!Posted on Aidan WVerified A lovely experience 3 of us had an evening meal, in the Clubhouse- today 27/03/2022-and it was most enjoyable. We were served by Emma, Sean, Jason and Derek, who were friendly, highly efficient and most welcoming. Thank you Emma, Sean, Derek and Jason. Oh! Parking is free.Posted on Aidan WVerified Excellence in every way My friend and I enjoyed mugs of coffee - today 26/11/2021-and it was most enjoyable. We were served by Sean who was not only efficient but welcoming and friendly too. Safety is of paramount importance and is evident with social distancing, mask wearing and sanitizers in evidence. Thank you Sean, Derek, Matty, Ellen and Emma for a most enjoyable 2 hours.Posted on Robert WVerified Pleasant golf Arrived here on a very busy day and they still managed to squeeze us in. Well laid out and nicely manicured course, you won't lose many balls here. Length of pars is main difficulty here so with wide open fairways you can really hit your balls. Pleasant lady at reception took time to chat to us and invited us back again. We will be back.
